The Danelectro Tuna Melt Tremolo pedal is a great inexpensive option if you need something to get the job done. It plays well with other pedals (even pedals of different brands). I've been using it in GarageBand and my Fender Mustang II amp, so I can't tell you what it would sound like on a big amp or live.
